About Sam

After returning to my hometown roots of Boston, MA, and performing and teaching there for a year and a half, I again followed my muse and moved to the creative mecca of New York City in July 2015.  I spent a few years there and greatly evolved and grew there as an artist, teacher, and performer.  After various travel, transitions and spiritual work, I have landed now in beautiful southern New Hampshire. My musical tastes tend to gravitate toward the classic rock and soul realm with artists like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles, but I also love the rock sounds of artists like Jeff Buckley and Radiohead.  I am pretty eclectic, though, and listen to a wide range of music from classical to gypsy jazz to pop and everything in between.

You can check out some of my music below.  Here are a few songs I wrote and a cover of the Beach Boy's classic "God Only Knows" thrown in for good measure.  Hope you enjoy!

Music has always been a huge part of my life! I started playing drums at age 6 after seeing a friend play and being totally mesmerized.  I played in jazz bands and studied music all through my youth.  In high school, I became absorbed by the classic rock sounds of the 60’s and 70’s and truly found my voice with guitar, singing, and writing songs. I continued my musical education at Berklee College of Music and studied Professional Music for several years.  In 2008, I felt the call to move to Austin, Texas and immersed myself in the vibrant music scene there. I performed as a solo artist, played guitar for several local artists, and released my first solo album.  I also dedicated myself to teaching private guitar lessons, as well as music classes for young children. I discovered a great passion for watching students learn, grow, and unlock their innate musical potential and love for playing. I believe that everyone is musical!
